Henry Lewis Schumaker, 89, of 5810 Dunlap Creek Rd., died Wednesday July 5, 2017 at his residence.
He was born September 24, 1927, in Monroe County, West Virginia, a son of the late Henry T. and Lettie Mayhan Schumaker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Cody Schumaker, Ben Schumaker, James Schumaker and Hunter Schumaker; four sisters, Pauline Baker, Clarice Shaffer, Virginia Daugherty and Nettie Martin.
Mr. Schumaker retired from the former Hercules, Inc. and had been employed with Pave N Save for several years. He attended Palestine Chapel.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Carol Lowrey Schumaker of Covington; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ronnie McDowell of Covington; two grandchildren, Kim McClung and her husband, Michael, and Jacob McDowell, all of Covington; two great grandchildren, Adalee McClung and Mahaley McClung both of Covington and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday July 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.
Interment will follow in Palestine Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive their friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home.
