Elbie Douglas "Wayne" Hoke, Jr., 69, of 7000 Ogles Creek Rd., died Friday, October 11, 2013, at his residence Mr. Hoke was born January 19, 1944, in Alleghany County a son of the late Elbie Hoke, Sr. and Wilma Buckland Hoke. He was also preceded in death by a Daughter, Susan Hoke in 1987, and his first Wife, Brenda Hoke in 1997. He had retired from Acadia Polymers as a millroom operator. He was an active member of the United Baptist Church on Ogles Creek and was an avid outoorsman. Surviving are his Wife, Wanda Kidd Hoke of Covington; his Daughter, Tammy Starkey and her Husband, Charles, of New Orleans, LA; two Sons, Michael Hoke and his Wife, Stacy, of Clifton Forge and Adam Hoke and his fiance', Sheena McCarty, of Covington; a Step-Daughter, Lena Deacon and her Husband, Robert, of Natural Bridge; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three Sisters, Jean Eppard of Waynesboro, Faye Malcom and her Husband, Butch, and Vannessa Robertson and her Husband, Lonnie, all of Covington; a number of nieces and nephews and special friends including Buddy Vass, Jessie O'Conner, Juanita Pace and his church family. The funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Jason Cochran officiating. Interment will be made in the Hokes Chapel Cemetery.
