John Everett Arrington Jr. 86, of Covington Va. died at home April 30th 2010. He was born March 12th 1924 at Princeton WV, the son of the late Ethel and John Arrington Sr. John severed in the US Navy during World War ll as Seaman 2/C, serving on the SS John Cabot, SS Norman E Mack, and the River Raisen. He severed from July 14th 1943 until he was Honorably Discharged on December 23,1946. He received the American Area Medal, European Theater Medal, Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Medal. Mr. Arrington was a Coal Miner prior to an injury that disabled him. He enjoyed playing Gospel music and played with gospel groups at different times and places. John was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, in Cranberry, WV. He is proceeded in death by, Father John Everett Sr. and Mother Ethel Virginia Arrington, daughter Ethel,son Jack Allen and brother Jack Lewis. He is survived by his wife Mary Sue Toombs Arrington of Covingotn, and his children, Everett Arrington of White Sulphur Springs,WV, Frank Arrington of, Oak Hill, WV, John L. Arrington of Phoenix, Az Wanda Tigert, Fayetteville, WV, Karen Goins, Oak Hill, WV, Joan Yarber, Oak Hill, WV, Eva Yarber, Oak Hill, WV, Ruth White, Wilmington, NC, Stepsons, Greg Woodson, Cliffton Forge, VA, Jim Woodson, Cliffton Forge, VA, Steve Woodson, Stewarts, Draft, VA, Tom Woodson, Staunton, VA, Sister, Betty Fitzgerald, Covington, VA, Brother, Thomas Arrington, NC. John has numerous grand-children, great-grand-children, and great-great-grand-children.
