DOC PERSINGER Beauford Harold "Doc" Persinger , 88, went to be with his Lord , Friday, February 8, 2013 at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. He was born October 12, 1924 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Henry Pleasant and Edith Terry Persinger. Mr. Persinger served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the former Halmode, Inc in the Maintenance Department . He was a self employed carpenter and was an employee of the former J. B. Salterini Companyin Covington. He was a member of the Cliffdale Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Humphries Persinger in 2011;a son, Harold Persinger in 1953; a grandson, David Persinger in 1977 and also by nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Cheryl Persinger of Hot Springs and Douglas and Tracy Persinger of White Sulphur Springs, WV; two daughters and a son- in - law, Irene and Tom Forbes and Virginia Arrington, all of Covington. 13 grandchildren, Amanda Forbes, Dusty Forbes, Rusty Forbes, James Arrington Crystal Fridley, Wesley Arrington; Tyler Persinger, Taylor Persinger, Shena Persinger ;Julie Stalnaker, Brianna Persinger, Madison Persinger and Devon Persinger nine great grandchildren, Caleb Forbes, Harley Forbes, Haley Forbes, Hayden Forbes, Trevor Fridley, Chris Arrington, Dustin Stalnaker, Gavin Stalnaker and Rhiannon Stalnaker and one Sister, Goldie Hepler of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews. The interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.
