Lorenzo Everett Heighter age 86 of 227 S. Marion Ave, died Friday, November 2, 2018, at his residence. He was born July 9, 1932, in Clifton Forge the son of the late Phillip M. Heighter, Sr. and Lillian Jones Heighter. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a Daughter, Katina Y. Heighter, in 1998 and by two brothers, William Heighter and Phillip Heighter,Jr. Mr. Heighter was the former owner and electronics designer engineer of MGI, Inc. in Hampton Va. After retirement, he worked at Walmart as a door greeter. He served in United States Air Force and was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Clifton Forge. Surviving his Wife of 63 years, Betty Jackson Heighter, of Covington; two Daughters, Diane Heighter of Covington and Lisa Simmons and her Husband, Wayne, Bristow, VA; three grandchildren, Ryan Simmons, Nicole Simmons and Keyon Hughes; one great grandchild, Giselle Simmons; Special nephew Bert Jackson and wife, Ingrid, of Dublin and Aurelia Jackson and her children, Dominc Jackson, Brian Jackson and Chris Jackson two Brothers, Raymond Heighter and his Wife, Barbara, and Irving Heighter all of Clifton Forge; one Sister, Laurie Dawson, and her Husband, Freddie, of Clifton Forge; a Sister-in-law, Carrie Heighter, of Clifton Forge; a God Son, Nathaniel Smith, of Covington, and host of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes his body was donated to medical science. A memorial service will be held Saturday November 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Preston Tyler officiating Memorial contribution in Mr. Heighter name can be made to Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637 Clifton Forge VA 24422.
