Marvin Lorenzo “Birdman” Farewell Sr., 62, of 402 S. Lexington Ave., died, Tuesday February 18, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Farewell was born May 20, 1957 the son of the Charles J. Farewell and the late Rhoda Little Farewell. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a sister Deresa Armstrong, and a brother Tony Farewell.
He worked as a self-employed general contractor and was a member of First Baptist Church on Lexington Ave.
Surviving in addition to his father is his companion Cecelia Moorman Hayhoe of Covington, a daughter Mylinda Farewell of Covington, a son Marvin L. Farewell Jr. of Manassas, five grandchildren: Javon Fadley, Jeremiah Fadley, Justin Fadley Jr. and Damoni Josiah Farewell all of Manassas, and Trayvon Lorenzo Farewell of Front Royal, two sisters Shelia Bailey of NC and Dikia Armstrong, three brothers Ross Farewell, Karl Farewell of GA, Ricky Hunt of FL.
In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church at 337 S. Lexington Ave. Covington, VA 24426; or the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
