Parker Payne Tucker, Jr., 49, of 117 Cool Valley Lane, died, Sunday, January 17, 2021, in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor. Mr. Tucker was born March 12, 1971, in Alleghany County a son of the late Parker P. Tucker, Sr. and Judy Saylor Tucker. He was an animal lover and enjoyed going to car shows. Surviving are his partner, Gerald Scott Martin, of Covington; three Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Ida Mae and Earl Brown and Cheryl and Tommy Smith and Megan and Shawn Miller, all of Covington; one Brother, William R. Tucker and Anthony Catania, of Clayton, NC ; several nieces and nephews to include, Rachel Mae Zamana and her husband, Cole, of Covington, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Roger Wayne Ogden, 74, of 2205 Dressler Drive, died, Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. Mr. Ogden was born April 9, 1946, in Covington, a son of the late Howard Raymond Ogden, Sr. and Hazel Stinnett Ogden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Howard R. "Bill" Ogden, Jr.; one sister, Pauline Claytor; and a niece, Denise Gravely, nephew, Richard Claytor and a nephew-in-law, Steve Hoke. Wayne was a veteran of the Vietnam War holding the rank of Sergeant in the U.S. Army while serving in Germany and Greece. He attended North Carolina State University and graduated from VWCC and Virginia Tech while achieving his bachelor's and master's degree. In the earlier years, he worked for VDOT and the Covington City School System. He retired in 2005 from Mead-Westvaco as a Senior Chemist. He was a Life Member of the Curtis A. Mr. Kimberlin was born November 15, 1952, in Alleghany County a son of the late Norman Kimberlin and Celia Wolfe Kimberlin Terry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Kimberlin. Coyd was a self employed truck driver and equipment operator and had worked for Teddy J. Dressler & Sons for many years. He attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and enjoyed classic trucks and hunting. Emma Leigh Walker was born January 8, 2021 in Greenbrier Medical Center in Fairlea, WV and passed on January 10, 2021 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Emma was the daughter of Quintin Walker Jr. and Melissa J. Meadows of Clifton Forge. In addition to her parents, she was survived by five siblings; Stephanie Walker, Destiny Walker, Elektra Walker, Michael Walker, and Xander Hosey all of Covington, Maternal Grandmother Stephanie Tucker and Bruce Green and Maternal Grandfather Ernest Meadows Jr. all of Covington, Paternal Grandmother Tammy Mace and husband Ray of Covington, Paternal Grandfather Quintin Walker Sr. and wife Kelly of Clifton Forge, Maternal Great Grandmother Edith Burkitt of Lexington, and Maternal Great Grandfather Ernest Meadows Sr. and wife Wilma of Tabor City, NC and a number of aunts and cousins. Her body has been cremated. A celebration of life will be at a later date. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home....

Bernard Reed Bowling 80, of 3008 Valley Ridge Road, passed away Sunday,, January 10. 2021, at Stone Spring Hospital in Dulles, Va. Mr. Bowling was January 13, 1940, in Alleghany Count son of late Jesse Reed Bowling and Ella Johnson Bowling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Martin, Jr., Gerald Bowling and James Bowling and one sister, Barbara Bowling Jett. Bernard served in United States Army, and had retired from Hercules Inc. He was avid hunter and golfer and loved being around his friends, but health issues had kept him from that for quite a few years. Surviving are his Wife, Joy Sheppard Bowling, of Covington; a Son, Jesse A. Bowling, of Millboro; a grandson, Brody Fox, of Covington, and a Brother, Aubrey Bowling and his wife Pat, of Covington, and several nieces and nephews. Berkley Miller Key, 79, of 408 E. Fairlawn Drive went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in Lewis-Gale Montgomery Regional Hospital at Blacksburg due to complications from covid-19. Mr. Key was born February 4, 1941, in Covington a son of the late Earl and Gladys Wood Key. He was retired from PMI, Inc. and was the owner of Key Electric, LLC. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was quiet, generous and always helping others with their heating and air in their homes, usually on the coldest nights and hottest days. He was a long time member and Deacon of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mr. Miller was born March 5, 1950 in Alleghany Co. a son of the late Clayton and Margie Plott Miller. He served in the United States Navy and retired after 30 years as an insulator with MeadWestvaco. Willie loved to fish, golf, and loved to work out in his garage.
