DARYL WHITEHEAD Daryl Preston Whitehead, 73 of 351 E. Fudge Street, died, Sunday, October 20. 2013 at his residence. He was born July 23, 1940 in Alleghany County, a son of the late William and Evelyn Ayers Whitehead. Daryl retired as a carpenter from the former Hercules, Inc. and He was a member of Good News Fellowship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Linwood Whitehead and a sister Sally Zimmerman. Surviving are Becky Horne Langston of Covington; one son, Preston Whitehead and his wife of Eva of Covington; two daughters, Rhonda Nida of Covington and Bonnie Ridgewell of Clifton Forge;a step daughter, Lorraine Humphrey and her husband, harold of SC; seven grandchildren, Kaitlin Nida; Carli Nida; Amber Clapton; Brandon Ridgewell; Lindsey Whitehead ; Samantha Whitehead; P. J. Knabenshue; four great grandchildren ; a half sister, Debbie Belcher and her husband Tom of Tidewater, VA and a number of nieces nephews, aunts and uncles. In keeping with Daryl's wishes, his body has been cremated. Memorial Information The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Good News Fellowship, 214 S. Lexington Ave., Covington, VA.
