April 23, 2018

Carol Ann Rose Bradshaw, 78, of Covington, VA went into the arms of her loving Lord on Monday April 23, 2018. Carol was born on December 29, 1939 in Alleghany County, the daughter of the late Lewis Jackson and Ruth Sizer Rose. Carol was a former employee of the Industrial Rayon Plant and then became a devoted homemaker. She was a dedicated member of Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for a number of years and was a member of the Women's Circle. Carol enjoyed gardening in the vegetable garden, tending to her flower beds, or just being outside to enjoy the view of the mountains. During the fall, she enjoyed driving through "God's Country" to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. One of her greatest joys were her two grandchildren, Josh and Brooke Humphries. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard Eugene Bradshaw of Covington, a daughter Teresa Humphries Stevens and husband Nate of Daleville, a son Michael Eugene Bradshaw of Covington, two grandchildren Joshua Michael Humphries of Harrisonburg, and Brooke Lauren Humphries of Daleville, and a mother-in-law Rebecca Bradshaw of Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church. Due to limited space, the family requests that only immediate family and Carol's church family attend the service. Rev. David Brown will officiate the service. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Lone Star Cemetery, where all are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Carol's name to Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church, at 205 Summit Dr. Covington, VA 24426.
