Palmer Pleasant “Junior” Persinger, Jr., 59, of Covington, died Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his residence.


Junior was born on June 6, 1964, a son of the late Palmer P. Persinger, Sr. and Janice Fridley Persinger.


Mr. Persinger was a carpenter for Commonwealth Contracting for many years. While he was dedicated to his profession, he also loved spending time with his family, most notably his grandbabies, and enjoyed camping and family vacations to the beach. He was a member of Highland Chapel Christian Church.


Surviving are his wife, Catherine “Sissy” Persinger; a son, Adam (Amy) Harris; two daughters, Kiersten (Bubba Stull) Persinger, and Karissa (Luke Stone) Persinger, all of Covington; grandchildren, Cheyenne Tucker, Adalee Harris, and Axton Harris; one brother, Chris Fridley of Paint Bank; three sisters, Patricia (Dana) Haynes, Valerie (Alfred) Smith, and Lizzie (Mike) Hoke, all of Covington; and numerous nieces and nephews.


A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. The family will receive their friends from 1:00 PM until service time.


Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.


Pallbearers will be:  Robert Smith, Ely Smith, Logan Smith, Ryland Smith, Adam Harris, Bubba Stull, Luke Stone, and Nick Mailliard.
