JOSEPH ASH Joseph Alley Ash, 69, of Sinks Groves, West Virginia, died. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital . Mr. Ash was born May 24, 1939 in Dearborn , Michigan, a son of Saide and Savanna Reed Ash. He retired from ATT as the head of Corporation Security Department. He was a member of the Elk's Club International and the Eagles Club, both in Michigan. In addition to his parents, Mrs. Ash was preceded in death by three sons, Gerald Ash, John Crawford and David Crawford. Surviving are his wife, Opal Booth Ash of Sinks Grove, WV; one son, Tim Ash of Michigan ; daughter, Gayle Ayers of Mount Juliet, TN; four grandchildren, Allie Ayers and Alex Ayers, both of Mount Juliet, TN and Dalton Hunter and Ronnie Hunter, both Sinks Grove, WV; ; one brother, Mohammad Ash of Lovinia, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Mr. Ash's wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Michigan. Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
