Christopher Hamilton Baker, 21, Covington, died, Wednesday, January 9, 2013. He was born September 5, 1991 in Roanoke, VA, the son of Rodney and Doris Withrow Baker of Covington. Chris was a 2010 graduate of Alleghany High School where he was a four year member of the Soccer Team. He was a part time employee of K-Mart in Covington. He attended Dabney S. Lancaster Community College for two years and was student at the New River Community College in Radford. Chris was an active member of the community, having become an Eagle Scout and was a member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church . He was a former member of the Covington Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Arleigh and Rosie Gabbert Withrow. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents Bobby and Janet Baker of Covington; paternal great grandmother, Pauline Baker of Sweet Springs, WV; uncles and aunts, Calvin and Shirley Withrow of Union, WV and Carl and Michelle Withrow of Liberty, NC; his special Nanny, Brenda Cochran of Covington and his "big sister" , Lisa Cochran of Covington. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Caleb Ryder, Cassidy Burns, Tyler Farrar, Jon Patrick Humphries, Zach Carroll, Brandon Dempsey, Collin Richardson, and Eric Bartocci.
