Helen Isabelle Sellers Johnson, 91, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born November 6, 1922 to the late Mary Plott Sellers and Everette Franklin Sellers. Mrs. Johnson retired from Bath County Community Hospital as a nurse's aide after many years of lovingly caring for others. She was member of the Eden United Methodist Church and the Eden UMC Women of the Church. She was also formerly employed at the Homestead, Inc. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Burl M. Johnson, as well as brothers, Dewey Sellers and Garland Sellers, a sister Ruby Thompson Arrington and a son-in-law, Raymond L. Hodge. Surviving are her children, Carole Ford and Patrick Ryan of Roanoke; Jim Johnson and his wife, Donna of Staunton; Cathy Hodge of Hot Springs, Everette Johnson of Sharpsburg, MD, and Mary Smith and her husband David of Hot Springs. Grandchildren, Jeremy and Jennifer Smith of Hot Springs; Heidi Smith and Zach Freedle of Vinton and Tara and Mike Stull of Fredrick, MD; Sisters, Janice Pence of Covington and Ruth Bledsoe of Adams , TN. Brothers, Melvin Sellers of Covington and Connie Sellers of Roanoke, sister-in-law, Frances Johnson of Verona and numerous nieces, nephews and loving caregivers, Tammy Bogan and Deb Cash. The interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ray Rodgers, Eddie McAllister, Elwood Smith, Patrick Ryan, John Young Richard Johnson, and Bart Ailstock. Honorary pallbearers will be Weldon Caracofe, Jimmy Cauley, Gary Smith and other friends attending the service.
