LYLE FERTIG Lyle Duane Fertig, 82, of 2019 Dressler Drive, died, Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge. He was born October 21, 1925 at Frost West Virginia, a son of the late Albert L. and Goldie Dilley Ferdig. Mr. Fertig served with the United Sates Navy during World War II. He retired in 1986 from Meadwestvao as Beaterman after 41 years with the company. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fertig was preceded in death by Elta Powell, Jean Hannah and Jo Ann Fetig. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Elnora Mae Curtis Fertig of Covington; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Powell of Covington; John and Tina Humphries of Covington; Susan and Ted Snyder of Lexington; Darlene and Rick Titsworth of Old Hickory, TX Gina Gunn of Christiansburg; Marie and Wayne Crowder of North Carolina and LeAnna Fulk of Richmond and a sister-in-law, Zernie Gunn of Clifton Forge. The funeral service will be held 2;00 Pm Thursday in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park Mausoleum. Active pallbearers will be Harold Higgins, Pete Griffith, Alan Botkins, Buddy Ervin, Rob Simmons and Jeremey Powell. Friends may pay their respects anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends this evening 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
