FLORA ROSE Flora Marie Jackson, 77, of 723 S. Alleghany Ave., went of be with her Lord, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from Lewis Gale - Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. She was born May 17, 1936 in Talcott, West Virginia, to the late James and Iphegenia Marie Sweeney Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. James Dennis Rose, Sr. Mrs. Rose graduated from Lincoln High School in Hinton WV and attended Bluefield Sate College. She retired from the Alleghany Social Service and was a long time member of the Pine Street Baptist Church in Covington. Mrs. Rose served on the Covington City School Board and was a Substitute Teacher. She enjoyed crafts and crocheting. Flora was blessed with a very close knit family who loved and cared for each other. Surviving are her two sons, James Dennis Rose, Jr. of Houston, TX and William Kevin Rose of Covington; her daughter, Janet E. Ross and her husband Kalvin of Covington; three grandchildren who she cherished, Bryan Rose of Memphis, Jaana Marie Rosi- Stewart and James Daniel Rose-Smith , both of Covington; brothers and sisters, Jean Jackson of Roanoke; Shirley Smith of Columbia, SC; James Jackson and his wife, Peggy of Lakeland, FL; Kenni Pierce of Talcott, WV; Jerry Steven Jackson and his wife, Katie of Kansas City, KS; Phyllis Hale of Covington; Sue Ray and her husband Reuben of Weston, FL; Tony Jackson and his wife, Jeanette of Hendersonville, TN; Angela Albiz and her husband, Khalid of Orlando, FL; Michael Jackson of Salem and Merri Carol Jackson of Henderson, TN; Special friends, Donna Wooding, Linda Venable and Evelyn Cooper and a host of nieces and nephews. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
