Susanne Retzlaff "Susi" Shaver, 50, 366 Forestry Road, Hot Springs, died, at her residence. Mrs. Shaver was born November 21, 1965 in Arlington the daughter of John Retzlaff and Gudrun Petermann Retzlaff. Susi was a graduate of Bath County High School. She loved to travel and became a flight attendant for a number of years. She became a homemaker and loved caring for her family including her dogs, Karli, Bailey, and Libby. She was an avid sports fan, following her children during their high school sports careers. Susi was employed for nine years at Laura's Boutique and was most recently the hostess at Les Cochons d'Or in Hot Springs. In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband of 28 years, Tom Shaver, of Hot Springs, her daughter, Erika Shaver of Charlotte, NC, her son, Tommy Shaver, II of Harrisonburg, her grandson Levi Scott of Lynchburg, a brother Thomas Retzlaff and wife Lisa, a niece Emma Retzlaff, a nephew Jackson Retzlaff all of Hot Springs, and her extended family of in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service will be held Saturday January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Steve Shaver officiating. The family will receive their friends one hour prior to the service.at Arritt Funeral Home. In accordance with her wishes her body has been cremated. The family suggests that memorial contributions in Mrs. Shaver's name be made to the Cancer Bridge Fund at Augusta Health Foundation P.O. Box 1000 Fishersville, VA 22939.
