Ruth Spriggs Tyson, 67, of 334 E. Oak Street died, Thursday, April 27, 2017 at her residence. She was born November 3, 1949, in Marlinton, WV, a daughter of the late Frances Johnson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Dale Tyson, and two sisters, Shirley Allen and Carolyn Hester. Mrs. Tyson was former employee of the Covington School System in the Cafeteria at Covington High School. She was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church where as active in the Loyal Daughters Club and the Deaconess Club Surviving are her husband Daniel Tyson of Covington; her two daughters, Barbara Tyson of White Sulphur Springs, WV and Nicola Tyson of Covington; her son Daniel Tyson, Jr. of Covington; seven grandchildren, Brandon Motter, Megan Motter , Jorden Motter, Tanesha Tyson, James Hunter, Aysia Massie and Dominique Jordan; one great grandson, Daiqwan Hunter; two sisters Betty Pryor and Josephine Daughtery, both of Charleston, WV, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Pine Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Harper officiating. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. The boys begged for his attention. One bought a brand new Harley just to try and get Bob to ride with him and never did. He ran around with others. There was no Christian anything, wasn't allowed to talk about Jesus. The boys are in and out of prison, one is all over the internet and in prison for destroying property and beating on women. He partied his whole life putting himself first breaking his kids and hearts through it all. The parents partied and used the kids as bait between the other kids family,it's a mess that left everyone in the family a miserable mess. Everyone knows who he really is, and his wife. She would enable her sons to beat on women and help them do it while the women begged her for help she and Bob would just laugh at them and do nothing to.the boys. There was no relationship between the kids and Bob, the kids tried so hard they went mental, emotional, anger/rage problems. This is a very rough bunch yet still prayers for their loss and that they truly find Christ sincerely.

Stanley,Donna, Meghan, Tyler and all the family I am so very sorry for your loss. Elsie was a dear freeing and a mentor for so many women who worked with her over the year. She was one of strongest woman of faith I have ever known. I will miss her deeply
