DOROTHY CRAWFORD Dorothy Beatrice Henderson Lowen Crawford, 95, formerly of Gray Street in Covington went peacefully into heaven on August 8, 2012, from the home of her Daughter and Son-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Blenner in Virginia Beach where she had made her home for the past 18 years. Dorothy was born in Kerns, VA, on August 18, 1916, to the late E.M. Henderson and Laura Gilliam Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, "the love of her life", Oscar Andrew Lowen, in 1953; her second husband, E.B.Crawford; her first grandson, David Andrew Lowen in 1994; four brothers and five sisters. She lived the longest of anyone in her family. Surviving are her Son, Ronald Andrew Lowen, of Verona; her Daughter and Son-in-law, Dorothy Carolyn and Robert Blenner of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Tonja(Neal)Wellons, Andrew(Anna)Brothers, Anthony(Angel)Lowen and Jason(Tina)Lowen; eight great grandchildren, Carter Wellons, Natalie Wellons, Austin Brothers, Alexandra Brothers, Alex, Jessica, Justin, and Adrianne Lowen; special family and friends, Shirley and George PErsinger,Carol Sue Dickson, Rick Dickson, Ina Henderson, Betty Jane Clem, Lisa Doss and Susan McComb. Dorothy was a loving Mother to her children and Nannie to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved homemaking, attending church, singing, gardening and baking cakes. Her strength, love and faith encouraged and comforted others all during her life. She will be missed by many. Arritt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
