Winston Lee Posey, Jr., 72, of 425 W. Indian Valley Road, went home to be with the Lord, July 14, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born July 15, 1944 in Daytona Beach, Florida, a son of the late Harriett Ramey Posey who died 1966 and Winston L. Posey, Sr. who died in 2008. Mr. Posey retired from CSX Railroad. He was a huge sports fan who loved car racing, sports and hunting. He was member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Katie Dowdy Posey of Covington; two sons, Robert Posey and his wife Melissa of Roanoke and Timmy Posey of Covington; step daughter, Mariah Bennett and her husband Mark of Covington; one sister, Cynthia Jones and her husband Brent; four brothers, Nathan Posey and his wife Patricia; Donald Posey and his wife Christy; Steven Posey and his wife Marlene and Ronald Posey; three grandchildren, Amber Averill, Robert Posey, Jr. and Caleb Wilson; three great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, Robert Bennett and Bradyn Bennett and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the rev. Dean Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in the Dowdy Cemetery in Glace, West Virginia. Pallbearers will be Nathan Craft, Charlie Simmons, David Goff, Chad Tacey, Andy Cash and Richard Mansell. The visitation will be held Monday evening, July 17, 2017 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home.
