Jonathan Ray “Buck” Lawhorn 44 of Covington passed away Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital.

He was born August 11, 1982, in Alleghany County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Campbell Lawhorn, and his sister, Ronda Clayton.

Buck worked as a carpenter for many years and was a former employee of Ingevity Corporation. He was an avid rabbit hunter and enjoyed the time he spent outdoors, especially hunting. He took great pride in his work as a carpenter and was known for his hardworking nature and love of the outdoors.

He is survived by his father, Jesse (Linda) Lawhorn of Sharpsburg, GA; his brother, Todd (Erma Lee Tucker) Lawhorn of Covington; his niece, Roselin Clayton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In keeping with his wishes, Jonathan’s body has been cremated.

A celebration of life service will be held, Thursday, October 22, 2026 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00PM with Rev. Bill Gilliand officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00-2:00PM prior to the service.
