SYLVESTER BROWN, JR. Sylvester Lee Brown, Jr., 63, of 218 N. Alleghany Ave., died, Monday, September 27, 2010 at his residence. He was born October 28. 1946 in Covington, a son of the late Sylvester L. Brown, Sr. and Lucille Umbles Brown. Mr. Brown was employed at the former Alleghany Regional Hospital for over 20 years. He had many hobbies, including his love of fishing, gardening, singing and drawing. He was an active member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ where he served on the Usher Board and was member of the church choir. He served as the custodian for the church for a number of years. In addition to his parents, Sylvester was preceded in death by a brother, James Brown. Surviving are his sister, Geraldine Jones of Covington; his brother, Leroy Brown and his Fiance , Melissa Johnson of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
