Charles Edwards Moorman, 56, of Covington, died, Monday November 15, 2021, at Bon Secours St. Mary Hospital in Richmond. Mr. Moorman was born November 29, 1964, in Washington D.C. a son of the late Calvin and Katherine Dement Moorman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Abby Moody; three sisters Audrey Moorman, Elizabeth Willett, and Kathern Staehly; and a brother. He was a truck driver for Alleghany County and director of security for easy riders' events. Surviving are his wife Cecelia Kasnick- Moorman of Covington; three daughters Jessica Moorman of Clarksville, TN, Victoria Gill of Richmond, and Olivia Moody of Oakland, CA; seven sisters Rose Montgomery, Cecelia Hayhoe both of Madison, Barbara Smith, and Lucinda Plummer both of Portland, OR; Mary Gould of Milford, DE, Patricia Fugate of Port Republic, MD, and Margaret Roberts of Lindside, WV, and a number of nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs John Wayne and Molly Moorman. A funeral service will be held on Friday November 19, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Joseph Gould officiating. The family will receive their friends one hour prior to the service at Arritt Funeral Home. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorial contribution in Mr. Moorman's name can be made to the Alleghany Humane Society 9313 Rich Patch Rd. Covington, VA 24426. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
