Shirley Mae Madison, 65, of 519 Greenbrier Ave., died, Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Lewis Gale Alleghany in Low Moor. She was born April 9, 1949, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Shenandoah Madison and Bertha Persinger Markham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Hicks, Liz McDaniel and Ossie Williams and one brother, Larry Markham. Surviving are her fianc , James Tucker. Sr. of Covington; three daughters, Melissa Wean and her husband Nick of Fairfield; April Thurman of Lexington and Melinda Markham and Gordon Edwards of Covington; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; five sisters, Peggy Boone and her husband Raymond of Richmond; Betty Snow and her husband Carl of Suffolk; Sandy Ward and Larry of Dayton, OH; Brenda Gier and Chuck Givens; Donna Goff and her husband David, all of Covington ; one son-in-law, William Burns; special friends, Mavis Stanley; Bill Zimmerman; Shirley Broughman and Juan Roldan, all of Covington. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
