Barbara Ann Donovan Broughman, 86, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2017, at the Springs Nursing Center. Mrs. Broughman was born April 12, 1930, in Incubator Holler at Healing Springs to the late Daniel Donovan and Blanche Arehart Donovan Foster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Harry Broughman, Jr., in 1989. She was raised in Bath County on Mill Run Farm, graduated from Valley High School and attended Madison College for Women in Harrisonburg. Surviving are two Daughters, Connee Elmore of Staunton and Ann Matheney of Neola, WV; one Son, Bucky Broughman of Covington; eight grandchildren, Charley Blackburn, Joshua Elmore, Amanda Elmore, Callie Elmore, Jay Dilley, Jackey Matheney, Brandon Broughman and Jason Broughman; seven great grandchildren, Savannah Blackburn, Autumn Blackburn, Cassidy Matheney, Karleigh Elmore, Levi Elmore, Logan McCoy and Ariel Arbogast; two great great grandchildren, Jax Arbogast and Teagon Stafford; her sister-in-law, Primmie Long; two nieces, Pat McCoy and Tana Unroe; one nephew, David Long; her cousin, Brenda Ryder and special friends, Bill Zimmerman and Joyce Weber. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 7, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Painter officiating. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Joshua Elmore, Callie Elmore, Logan McCoy, Charley Blackburn, Jackey Matheney and Jay Dilley. The family will receive their friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Friday at Arritt Funeral Home.
