JESSE COTTRELL Jesse Hughart Cottrell, 84, of 104 Walton Church Lane in Clifton Forge died Monday morning, November 9, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Cottrell was born August 23, 1925, at Clifftop, WV, a son of the late Jesse and Mabel Williams Cottrell. He was a retired auto mechanic having worked for the former Monroe Street Texaco Service Station and also for the former Harry Childs Automotive Shop. Jesse was a veteran of World War II with the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion and the Craigsville Post #9480 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Glenna Whittington; five brothers,William Ernest Cottrell, Erskine Monroe Cottrell, Sr., Romey Estelle Cottrell, James Arley Cottrell and Edward Harley Cottrell, Sr.; two nephews, Ernest "Buddy" Whittington, Jr. and Roger Eugne Tucker and one niece, Cindy Moffitt. Surviving are his Wife of 32 years, Judy Cale Cottrell of Clifton Forge; his Daughter, Katie Wolfe and her husband, Eric "Bubba" Wolfe of Clifton Forge; one Sister, Ida Catherine Kane of Baltimore, MD; two Brothers, Bertrand Cottrell of Manassas and Erskine "Bunky" Cottrell and his wife, Janice, of Covington, and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM in the Walton Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Edward Cottrell, Jr. officiating assisted by Rev. Charles Johnson and Rev. Edith Snedegar. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects at anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
