Stanford Joseph Wolfe, 87, of 107 Parsonage Lane, died Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at his residence. He was born May 23, 1931, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Leffel Bud Wolfe and Dora Jamison Wolfe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Son, Jay Wolfe, in 2002; his Step-Mother, Julia Tingler Wolfe; five Brothers, Berlin Wolfe, Page Wolfe, Paris Wolfe, Grover Wolfe and Gerald Wolfe and two Sisters, Ruby Tingler and Izetta Nida. He was a veteran of the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He had retired in 2000 from the Alleghany County School Board Maintenance Department after 42 years of service. He was a longtime member of Highland Chapel Christian Church. Surviving are his Wife, Mary Lockhart Wolfe, of Covington; his Son and Daughter-in-law, Darel and Sherry Wolfe, of Covington; two grandchildren, Jeannie Adkins and her husband, Alan, of Covington and Derrick Wolfe of Covington; two great grandchildren, Shanna Adkins and Ashlynn Wolfe; two Sisters, Leola Wright of Hampton and Verlie Wilhelm of Clifton Forge and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. J. B. Broughman officiating. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Derrick Wolfe, Alan Adkins, Mark Nida, Eddie Freeman, Gerald Lockhart and Wayne Perkins. The family will receive their friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
