Larry Junior "Woofie" Wolfe, 71, of 203 Ridgewood Circle, died, April 6, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wolfe was born October 25, 1946 in Alleghany County the son of the late Clarence W. and Pearl Byer Wolfe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Gracie Spinks in 2001 and his mother in law, Edna Lowe. Larry retired in 2015 from Mead Westvaco as an instrument repairman. He was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men, as well as Covington Lodge # 610, Loyal Order of Moose. He was an avid bowler and a former employee of Hercules Inc. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War with the United States Army and also a member of the Virginia National Guard. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Gwen Lowe Wolfe, a daughter Missy Pifer and husband, Mark, three grandchildren Miranda Smithers and fianc, Josh Kimberlin, Kinley Spinks, and Erica Spinks, a sister Ruby Simmons and husband, Verlan, two brothers, Calvin Wolfe and wife, Sue, and David Wolfe and wife Teresa, all of Covington and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military rites by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
