JAMES THRASHER, JR. James Edward Thrasher, Jr., 58 , of Roanoke, and formerly of Covington, died, Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born May 16, 1953 in Roanoke, a son of the late James Edward Thrasher, Sr. and Dorothy Gusler Thrasher. James was a former employee CXS Railroad and Hercules, Inc. in Covington. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are his daughter, Shea Bogan and her husband, Donnie of Hot Springs; two grandsons, Mikael Thrasher of Covington and Darien Thrasher of Hot Springs; one brother, Steve Thrasher and his wife Sandy of Covington; two sisters, Gale Brown and her husband Michael of Covington and Dianna Leigh St. Clair of Lynchburg; one niece and three nephews; two Aunts, Louise Morris of Roanoke and Francis Thrasher of Southwest, VA and life long special friends, Mandy Loving of Roanoke; David and Virgie Hoover of Covington and Lynn Miller of Covington.
