Earl Ammond Landis, Kr., 82, formerly of Rich Patch, died, Monday, January 9, 2017 at Highland House in Clifton Forge. He was born July 3, 1934 in Covington, a son of the late Earl A. Landis, Sr. and Sylvia Rider Landis. Mr. Landis retired from VDOT as a Custodian at the Jerry's Run Rest Area. Surviving are his son, Nathan Landis and his wife Lisa of Wendell, NC; a granddaughter, Taylor Landis of NC; a grandson, Samuel Landis of NC ; several cousins, including Rebecca Shelffield of orlando, FL; special friends, Lonnie and Sue McKinney of Covington and Ronald Borwick of Florida. The funeral service will be held Friday January 13, 2017 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the rev. Paull Burns officiating. The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park with graveside rites being conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive their friends one hour prior to service time at Arritt Funeral Home.
