Susan Mays Nicely, 62 of 4007 Callaghan Circle died Monday,, February 6, 2017 at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. She was born October 5, 1954, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Rev. James T. Mays, Sr. and Gladys Huffman Mays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Nicely, in 1988. Susan was a former employee of Bacova Guild LTS in Low Moor. Surviving are two sisters, Janet Saunders, of Stuarts Draft and Peggy Landrum of Fincastle; one brother, James T. Mays, Jr. of Iron Gate; special friend, Edward Broughman of Covington and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 1:00 PM at the graveside in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gililand officiating. The family will receive their friends Saturday from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home.
