Ronald Jeffries, Sr. Ronald Kemper Jeffries, Sr., 87, of 1936 S. Arden Ave., died, Monday, October 17, 2022, in Lewis-Gale Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Jeffries was born July 12,1935, in Clifton Forge, a son of the late Edgar E. and Alice Patterson Jeffries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jerry A. Jeffries Sr. and a sister Doris Stinespring. Ronald retired from Westvaco after forty-two years of service in the Research Department. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and member of the Covington Moose Lodge #610. He loved to trout fish, NASCAR racing, and Golf. Surviving are his wife of 65 years Joyce Gabbert Jeffries of Covington; a daughter Angie Shinault and her husband Ricky; two sons Ronald “Jeff” Jeffries all of Covington, and Scott L. Jeffries of Mouth of Wilson; one grandson Cory L. Shinault of Kissimmee, FL; one brother Bernard Jeffries of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Thursday October 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM in Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Gary Marshall officiating. Arrangements are being handle by Arritt Funeral Home.
