The family of Kolin Howard Bennett, 56, of Covington, is saddened to announce his death on June 3, 2021 after a history of complex illnesses. Kolin was born to Marion "Dick" and Clara Bennett on October 17, 1964 in Clifton Forge, Virginia. He was born just minutes before his identical twin brother, Kyle, and never let him forget he was older. Kolin graduated from Alleghany County High School in 1983 and graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences, later specializing in psychiatry. Kolin had a long career with the Covington Rescue Squad which he loved, leading him to choose a path in the medical field. Kolin also previously worked for Standard Printing and the Virginian Review. Kolin was preceeded in death by his father, Marion "Dick" Bennett, his paternal grandparents Robert and Nellie Bennett and his maternal grandparents Howard and Luevena Simmons. In addition to his mother, Kolin is survived by his daughter, Margaret Bennett, granddaughters Katherine Grace and Inara Rhiannon, his sister Karen Bennett Waddell and Gary of Covington, sister Katra Bennett Fife and Mike of Lewisburg, WV, sister Kelly Bennett Croy of Ronceverte, WV, and brother Kyle Edward Bennett and Gouldar (Julie) of Covington, niece Stephanie Waddell Hepler and Jason of Covington, along with many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held Friday at 3:00 PM in the arritt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Warren officiating. The family will be receive one hour before service.
