Brenda Tingler Humphries, 77, of 3504 Jamison Mountain Rd., died, on Monday June 13, 2022, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. Mrs. Humphries was born on November 20, 1944, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late James Frank and Mabel Irene Redman Tingler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wade Lee Humphries in 2014, a daughter Debbie Dudley, a daughter in law Debbie Humphries, four Sisters, Darlene Givens, Velma Tingler, Arnetta Hicks, and Carol McCulley one Brother, Benson Tingler. She was a caregiver who enjoyed family reunions, drinking coffee, watching tv, and her chickens. Surviving are her five sons: Kenny Humphries, Dubbie Humphries and Samantha Campbell, Chubby Bogar Jr., Randy Bogar and wife Brenda, and Dinkie Bogar and wife Tammy; seventeen grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a son in law Melton Dudley; three Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Howard and Judy Tingler, Rodney and Pat Tingler and Chucky and Denise Tingler; one Sister, Chrystal McCulley, all of Covington; four special friends Delbert Smith, Terry Kern, Tammy Bryant, and Sherry Wolfe; and a very special caregiver Emily Deisher; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday June 16, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Christian officiating. The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery. The family will receive their friends on Thursday from 1:00 PM until service time at Arritt Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bobby Byer, Lewis Humphries, Chad Humphries, Alan Adkins, Derrick Wolfe, BJ Hubbard, Ronnie Humphries, Zachary Humphries, and Stevie Simmons. The family suggests memorial donations be made in Mrs. Humphries name to the Area 18 Special Olympics: C/O Cindy Givens at 305 S. Craig Ave. Covington, VA 24426. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
