Janice Jeffries Janice "Patty" Wilcher Jeffries, 68 of 616 N. Beverly St., died, Saturday July 2, 2022. Mrs. Jeffries was born on August 12, 1953, in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Ray Allen and Beulah Caldwell Wilcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons Jamie E. Jeffries, Jason T. Jeffries, and Jody A. Jeffries and a sister Doris Reynolds. She was a CNA for over 30 years at the Brian Center in Fincastle and Alleghany as well as at the Woodlands Health & Rehab Center. She loves working with the elderly. Surviving are a daughter Amanda R. Thompson and John Massie; nine grandsons David Thompson Jr. and Jessica Smith, Austin Thompson and Gina Dawson, Adam Thompson and Mahaley McClung, Ethan Jeffries, Kamron Jeffries, Jody Jeffries Jr., Heath Wade, Bubba Massie, and Caleb Massie; two great grandson Grayson Thompson and Rowen Thompson; two sisters Linda Sartain and husband Bill of Covington and Wanda Merritt of TN; a brother David Caldwell of Roanoke, a companion Danny "Paw" Dudley of Eagle Rock and her best friend of many years Shirley Wright of Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces an nephews and large extended family. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday July 5, 2022, at 2:00PM in the Oak Groves Advent Church Cemetery with the Rev. Pam Irvine officiating. The family will receive their friends at Arritt Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:00 until 1:00 and at other times at 5519 Johnson Creek Rd. Covington, VA 24426. Pallbearers will be David, Austin, Adam, Lee Sartain, John, Chris Riley, Camron Hyler, Matt Downey. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Downey and Kamron Jeffries. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
