Mary Ellen Stone Quick, 63, of 1203 Staunton St. in Selma, died Wednesday April 22, 2015 at Lewis- Gale Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was born August 22, 1951 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Ned W. Stone and Evelyn Cater Stone. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Quick was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Bobby" Wolfe; two sisters Joan Vess, and Carol Fabre. She was employed by Alleghany Public School Systems as a bus driver. She was affectionately known to children as "Ga". She is survived by husband, Allen Harlow of Selma; a son, Shawn Wolfe and his wife Mary of Covington; a daughter, Julie Brackenridge and husband Mark of Selma. Seven grandchildren; Barry Perdue, Gabe Wolfe, Charlie Wolfe, Kimmi Hostetter and husband Austin, Karly Brackenridge, Savannah Carter, and Macyn Carter; one great grandchild, Elyssa Hostetter; four sisters, Virginia Lawler Clifton Forge, Peggy Carter and her husband Bobby of Marion, Sue Paxton of Covington, Helen "Sis" Showman of Mt. Jackson; four brothers, Joe Stone and his wife Joanne of Lynchburg, Charles Stone and his wife Lucy of Alabama, Tommy Stone and his wife, Cheryl of Kentucky, and Jimmy Stone and wife Rosie of Indiana; and a number of nieces an nephews. In accordance with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday April 25, 2015 at 6:00PM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Douglas S. Moore officiating. The family well receive their friends following the service.
