Evan Michael Groves, age 15, of Covington, died September 18, 2023, at his home, following an extended illness.

Evan was born September 11, 2008, in Lexington, VA and was preceded in death by his Papaw Charlie Noland and John Groves.

Evan was a strong young man, and he never gave up. He was an avid UVA fan, loved monster trucks and trains. He attended Alleghany Highland Public Schools.

Surviving are his mother, Christina Britt Mclaughlin, and her fiancé, Cecil Hamilton of Covington; his father, Charles Angle of Low Moor; two sisters, Chaynne McCoy and Hannah Groves of Covington; maternal grandmother, Anna Noland of Covington, paternal grandmother, Brenda Craft of Low Moor, paternal grandfather, Blane Angle of Eagle Rock; maternal great grandparents, Danny and Patsy Sine of Verona.; an uncle, Jeff Britt of Covington; an aunt, Theresa Angle of Roanoke; two special friends, Parker Willis and Mason Hale of Covington.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Brad Armas officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Arritt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
