ELIZABETH SMITH Elizabeth Clark Anderson Smith, 82, of 2607 Dogwood Ave, died, Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor. She was born May 18, 1925 in Rockbridge COunty, the daughter of the late Ernest and Willie Bennington Clark. Mrs. Smith was a employee of the former Industrial Rayon Inc. and was a Nursing Assistant at the former C & O Hospital and also at Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded I death by her first husband, Robert L. Anderson in 1983; her second husband, Earl W. Smith; a son, Robert Wayne " Moses" Anderson and a granddaughter, Tara Stapleton. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Lockhart of Woodbridge; three grandchildren, Shayna Lockhart and Louis Roggo of Woodbridge; Chris Anderson of and Casey Anderson, both of Covington; two great grandchildren, Mariah Lockhart and Aryana Roggo, both of Woodbridge ; two brothers, Preston Clark and his wife, June of Fincastle and Ernest " Jujior " Clark and his wife Elsie of Buchanan ;a daughter-in-law, Angla Anderson of Covington. The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the rev. Ken Mason officiating. The interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home, Memorial Information The family suggests that memorial donations in Mrs. Smith's name may be made to the Alleghany County Humane Society, P.O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.

Betty was my classmate from grade 6 at Watson to Graduation from CHS, c/o 1971. She was very quiet, yet very friendly.
I saw her several times, after her return to Covington, usually at church. She was very spiritual and loved worship and praise.
My condolences 🙏🏽 and prayers to her entire Family.
