Mellie Louise Walton, 80, of Covington, died, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. Mrs. Walton was born February 18, 1942, in Alleghany County to the late McKinley and Della Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Charles Lacy Walton; two brothers, Haven and Samuel Tucker; a sister Irene Tucker; and a great grandson, Jacob Gilbert. Louise attended Cliffdale Christian Church and was a homemaker. Surviving are her five daughters; Pearl Bland, Ann (Jimmy) Gilbert, Debbie Walton, Sarah Walton and Lula (Billy) Gilbert; two sons, Jimmy and Chuck Walton; Fifteen grandchildren, Jason, Travis, Randy, Brittney, Jimmy Jr, Melissa, Chucky, Courtney, Bryan, Amanda, Cody, Brandon, Jessica, Buck and Chris; Thirty-one great grandchildren; and two sisters, Phoebe (Joe) Albright and Ilene Smith all of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Christian officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Gilbert, Chris Gilbert, Chucky Walton, Jimmy Walton, Jr., Cody Nolan, Brian Nolan, Travis Bland, and Trevor Walton. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Ann and Jimmy Gilbert, 804 Bennettown Road. The interment will follow at the Walton Family Cemetery.
