GLADYS CLEMMONS Gladys Hubbard Clemmons, 77, of 1119 Cherokee Trail died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in Alleghany Regional Hospital. Mrs. Clemmons was born September 15, 1930, in Covington a daughter of the late Charles and Sadie Jamison Hubbard. She had retired from the K-Mart Family Restaurant and was the former owner and operator, along with her husband, of the Montgomery Ward Catalog Store in Covington. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and was active in the Womens Circle and the Tuesday Ladies Helping Hands Group of the church. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Robert P. Clemmons, Jr., in 1980, a Son, Gary A. Clemmons, in 1995, and also by one sister and two brothers. Surviving are two daughters, Debbie Walton of Yorktown and Darcelle Reid and her husband, Brent, of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Jeff Clemmons and his wife, Cindy, of Yorktown and Curtis Clemmons and his wife, Sandy, of Covington; 11 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating assisted by the Rev. Paul Harris. Interment will be made in Cedar Hill Cemetery Active pallbearers will be C. W. Clemmons, Jr., Leo Walton, III, Ty Walton, Matthew Reid, Aaron Clemmons, Phillip O'Meara, Richard Watson and Bill Orndorff Alternate pallbearer will be Glen Haynes. Friends may pay their respects at anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times will be at the residence of Curtis and Sandy Clemmons at 1408 Peach Drive Memorial Information Mt.
