Barry Phillip Chittum, Sr. age 68, of 608 N. Augusta Avenue died Saturday, May 9, 2020, at his home. Mr. Chittum was born February 3, 1952, in Lexington a son of the late George and Allena Montgomery Chittum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. He had retired in 2014 from the Public Works Department of the City of Covington after 40 years with the city. Surviving are his Wife of 45 years, Elta McCray Chittum, of Covington; two Sons, Charles Chittum and Barry Chittum, Jr., both of Covington; three Sisters, Rita DeGuzman and her husband, Robert, Janet Kidd and her husband, Billy, and Jean Shinault all of Covington; one Brother, John Chittum and his wife, Anna, of Covington and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
