Wade Lee Humphries, 77, of 3504 Jamison Mountain Rd. Died Monday November 17, 2014 in Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg. Mr. Humphries was born March 21, 1937 in Alleghany County that son of the late Samuel "Abe" Humphries and Bertha Tucker Humphries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two Brothers and two Sisters He retired from the Public Works Department of the City of Covington in 1997. He was a member of Cliffdale Christian Church. Mr. Humphries is survived by his wife of 37 years Brenda Tingler Humphries of Covington, one Daughter and Son-in-law, Debbie and Melton Dudley of Eagle Rock; five sons Kenny Humphries, Dubbie Humphries, Carl Bogar Jr. Randy Bogar and his wife Brenda, and Dinkie Bogar and his Wife, Tammy, all of Covington; ten grandchildren, Chad Humphries, Lewis Humphries, Makala Humphries, Walker Humphries, Ashley Bogar, Megan Crawford, Jason Dudley, Jamie Dudley, Rachel Humphries, and Zachary Humphries, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a brother Wallace Humphries of Covington, a sister Maggie Humphries of Covington , a sister in law Nadine Humphries of Covington several nieces and nephews and two best friends for over 70 years Carroll Lee Smith and Jimmy Bailey. The funeral service will be held Friday November 21, 2014 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Christian officiating.
