BIRDIE MILLER Jessie Sizemore "Birdie" Miller, 80, of 4301 Potts Creek Road died Tuesday afternoon, August 14, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Miller was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Alleghany County the daughter of the late Anderson and Jessie Hubbard Sizemore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. She had retired in 1992 as a telephone operator for the CFW Telephone Company after over 40 years of service. She was a Charter Member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Covington, joining at the age of 21 and remaining active until her death. For many years, she was an Avon sales representative in the area. Birdie enjoyed traveling with family and friends, going to flea markets, collecting antiques and growing flowers. Surviving are her Husband of 60 years, Ernest "Skimp" Miller of Covington; her Daughter, Judy Miller of Roanoke; her Son and Daughter-in-law, David and Kim Miller of Covington; her granddaughter, Jennifer Miller of Covington; one Sister, Rita Kasinger of Covington; two Brothers, James Sizemore and Kenneth Sizemore and his wife, Annie, all of Covington and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.
