Pauline Connie Legg, formerly Pauline Bittinger, went to be with her Lord and Savior in her home on Friday November 8, 2024. Pauline was born on December 5th, 1946 in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Pauline is survived by her Husband of 56 years, retired Virginia State Police Sgt. David R. Legg; Daughter, Paula Legg Smallwood and husband, Tony R. Smallwood, Sr., of Covington; Grandchildren, Kayla and Christopher Cahoon, of Selma, Tyler and Maria Smallwood of Churchville, Allyson Burton and Christopher Spraker of Covington, Tony Smallwood Jr of Covington, and Jeran Smallwood of Radford; Great Grandchildren Carrigan Cahoon, Bryson Burton, Brody Spraker and Bennett Spraker; Siblings, Jean Snider of Charlottesville, Velma Defibaugh of SC, Roy and Gale Bittinger of WA, Ruth Cochran of Buena Vista, Shirley and Jimmie Thompson of Charlottesville, and Diane Bittinger of Pilot; a brother-in-law, Richard Wykle of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pauline was preceded in death by her grandmother, Cornelia Koontz; Father, Myles Bittinger; mother, Louise Bittinger; Siblings, Patricia Wykle and Raymond Bittinger; Nephews, Keith Snider and Robert Defibaugh III; and a great-grandson, Myles Cahoon.
Pauline prided herself on her faith and her love for the Lord. She attended Parrish Court United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and assisting with their numerous events. Pauline was retired, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and helping her family in any way that she was able. In her free time, she enjoyed her many getaways with her girlfriends; shopping and traveling.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Arritt Funeral Home at 12:30 pm, with service to begin at 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Justin Bittinger, Thomas Cochran, Christopher Cahoon, Christopher Spraker, Tony Smallwood, Jr, Jeran Smallwood, Tony Smallwood, Sr., and Greg Burton.
Raymond Bittinger will serve as honorary pallbearer.
In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Myles Lee Cahoon Memorial Scholarship Fund located at Highlands Community Bank in Covington, or to the Covington Rescue Squad.
Family and friends will be received at her daughter’s residence-2320 S. Church Ave, Covington, VA. 24426.
