MAYNARD CALLAHAN Maynard Russell Callahan, 60, of 2421 Crossing Lane in Lowmoor died Saturday, July 17, 2010, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Salem. Mr. Callahan was born February 27, 1950 in Alleghany County a son of the late Russell W. and Louise Broughman Callahan. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Russell Brookman. He was a veteran with the United States Army. He was a tractor-trailer driver for a number of companies over the years and had retired in 1995 as an over-the-road driver with CAT, Inc. out of their Lowmoor terminal. Surviving are his dog, Buffie; a special friend, Shirley Madison, three brothers, James Entsminger and his wife, Marie, of Daniels, WV; Kenneth Callahan and his wife, Jolene, of Alderson, WV, and Jessie Callahan, Sr. of Lowmoor; four sisters, Ernie Irvine and her husband, Leo, of Lexington, Virginia Humphreys and her husband, Johnny, of Raphine, Bertha "Bootsie" Martin and her husband, Darrell, of Covington, Shirley Broughman and James Lawhorn of Clifton Forge and several nieces and nephews.
