ADDISON MABRY Addison Sylvester Mabry, 90, of Montvale, died Monday , October 27, 2008 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. He was born October 30, 1917 at Monroe County West Virginia, a son of the late Wesley Haynes Mabry and Della Mae Hylton Mabry. Mr. Mabry served with the United States Army during the World War II in the Aleution Islands and was Honorable Discharged in September 1945 He retired as a carpenter with H. Phil Burks Construction. He was a member of First Christian Church in Covington for over 50 years. where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class and was a deacon as well as an elder. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Sarah Midkiff Mabry of Montvale; a daughter, Thelma Primo and her husband, Steve of Montvale; two grandson, Michael and Sara Lawhorn of Roanoke and David Lawhorn of Montvale; two great granddaughters, and one great grandson; one Brother, Lester Gerald Mabry and his wife, Frances of Caldwell, WV; one sister, Betty Harrison of and her husband, George of Columbia, SC and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 2;00 PM Thursday in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. The interment will be follow in Alleghany Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
