WERNER MEADOWS Werner Ray " Buddy" Meadows, 70, of 1324 Crawford Ave died Monday, May 4, 2009 at his residence. He was born February 17, 1939 in Hinton, West Virginia, a son of the late Earnest Lee and Glenna Lenora Buckland Meadows. Mr. Meadows retired from the Carbon Department of MeadWestvaco in 2001 after 39 years with the company. He enjoyed being a member of the Hardee's Breakfast Club and was an avid bowler having served as captain of the Westvaco Bowling League. He enjoyed Nascar racing and sitting on the porch talking with his friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Harrah Meadows in 2003 ; a son, Werner Ray Meadows, Jr. ; a brother, Donald Lee Meadows and a sister, Jane Carol Meadows. Surviving are his daughter, Lisa Robinson of Covington; his granddaughter, Ashleigh Nicole Robinson of Covington; his grandson, Mark Stephen Robinson, Jr., of Covington; one brother, Ernest Harold Meadows, and his wife, Wilma, of Forest Hill, WV; one sister, Edith Fowler and her husband, Moffett, of Iron Gate, a number of nieces and nephews and "Abby Jane". The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Friends may pay their respects at anytime at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive their friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the funeral home and at other times they will be at Lisa Robinson's home at 2019 S. York Ave., Covington, VA.
