JEAN WARREN
Jean Drysdale Warren, 91, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Collonades Nursing Center in Charlottesville. She was a former resident of McCormick Boulevard in Clifton Forge.
Mrs. Warren was born in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Duncan and Margaret Pollock Drysdale. She was a resident of Clifton Forge from 1954 until 2007. Her Husband, Dr. Thomas N. Warren, preceded her in death in 1998.
Raised in Lynchburg, Mrs. Warren attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College and received her R.N. Degree from Jefferson Medical College. Mrs. Warren was an active volunteer in the community of Clifton Forge and she served as president of the Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council. She also served on the hospital auxiliary of the former C&O/Emmett Memorial Hospital and was active in the formation of the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center in Clifton Forge. Mrs. Warren was a lifelong learner and enjoyed taking classes at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. In 1982 at age 61, she earned her BA Degree from Mary Baldwin College. Mrs. Warren was a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church. She loved to travel and play bridge and she took much pleasure in her family and friends and especially enjoyed her summers spent on the Cowpasture River.
Surviving are her children, Thomas N. Warren, Jr., and his wife, Debbie, of Stuart; David D. Warren and his wife, Karyn, of Keswick; Margaret Swartz and her husband, Bruce, of Richmond; four grandchildren, Dale, Ben and Tim Swartz and Andrea Rupe and her husband, Jay, of Pulaski; her great grandson, Carter Rupe of Pulaski and her brother, Douglas Drysdale and his wife, Elaine, of Charlottesville.
. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from friends attending the service.
