Betty Jo May Hartsfield Caliguire, 92, died, Sunday July 10, 2022, at The Brian Center Rehabilitation and Nursing Care in Low Moor.
Mrs. Caliguire was born on February 12, 1930, in Macksville, WV a daughter of the late Homer Angus and Arvella Harper May. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband William Leo Hartsfield; her second husband John G. Caliguire; a sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann Warner and Charles Jones Warner.
She was a faithful and Charter member of the North Fork Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse with the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. She went to the Davis Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Elkins, WV. She was very proud of her title as Registered Nurse and was part of the nurses who wore white shoes, hats, and dresses. She was a very skilled nurse and enjoyed taking care of her patients.
In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.
Surviving are her son Rev. William "Bill" Hartsfield and wife Honor of Covington; two grandsons Taylor Hartsfield and wife Davina of Naples, FL and Aaron Hartsfield and wife Lindsay of Roanoke; five greatgrandchildren Reagan, Rocco, Dominic, Luna, and Statler; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2022, at 7:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating. The family will receive their friends on Wednesday at the church from 6:00PM until the service time.
There will be a second celebration of life service held on July 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the North Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. William M. Hartsfield officiating. The family will receive their friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until service time.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
