Kenneth Wayne "Gomer" Jamison, 67, of 221 West Phillip Street died this morning, June 14, 2008, in the University of Virginia Medical Center at Charlottesville. Mr. Jamison was born August 28, 1940, in Covington a son of the late Kenneth L. and Virginia Bush Jamison. He had retired as a Millwright with MeadWestvaco in 2003 after 44 years with the company. He was a retired member of the United States Army Reserve with 22 years of service. Wayne was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Audrey Hylton Jamison and his brother Barry Jamison. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Wanda Landis Jamison, of Covington; his Daughter and Son-in-law, Connie and David Rose of Covington; his Granddaughter, Ashley Rose of Covington; his Sister, Rhonda Barnett and her husband, Tim, of Severn MD; his step-sister, Dorothy Bush and her husband, Bob, of Fulton,KY, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Price officiating assisted by the Rev. John Burnham. Interment will be made in the Persinger Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be L.C. Wickline, Wade Leech, Dalton Turner, Jamie Barnett, Robert Jamison, Gary Linkenhoker, Wayne Caldwell, and Bill Barber Alternate pallbearers will be Harry Newman an Aaron Marshall The family will receive their friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM Monday evening at Arritt Funeral Home.
