MELVIA JONES Melvia Hager Jones died Sunday night, February 21, 2010, at the Journey's Crossing Nursing Home in Elkton. She was a former resident of the Potts Creek community for many years. She was born October 9, 1928 in Mingo County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late William F. and Juanita Radford Hager. Mrs. Jones was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church and was an avid quilt maker. Surviving are her two daughters, Candy Phillips and her husband, Phillip of Shenandoah and Kay Jones and Tom Donaldson of Brooking, OR; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Sylvia Hurley of KY ; Alice Cook of Laurel, MD and Sharon Lastor of Manassas; three brothers, Tom Hager of MD; James Hager of Baltimore, MD and Jerry Hager of Dayton, OH and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ersel L. Jones in 2007. The interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gene Myers, Ken Benham, Paul Dameron, Tom McCaleb, Austin Bess and Phillip Wright. The online guest book is available at arrittfuneralhome.com
